Scholars Helping Collars Scholarship:

Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: February 26, 2025
Description: P.L.A.Y. has always made a point to promote compassion towards animals in both our personal and professional lives. We know there are plenty of young minds out there that are equally passionate about helping animals in need, so in an effort to encourage them and promote this cause, P.L.A.Y. will be awarding our annual scholarship to a graduating high school senior (2023-2024) who best exemplifies our core beliefs. No purchase necessary. Immediate family members of P.L.A.Y. employees are excluded from this contest. Julie Gerhardt-Mannina Scholarship: 

Amount: $8,000 – $32,000

Description: The Julie Gerhardt-Mannina Scholarship will be awarded to students who attended high school in East Side Union High School District and plan to attend San Jose State University. This scholarship seeks to support the education of the underserved and underrepresented Latinx population on the east side of San Jose. The selection committee seeks students who show academic promise and/or improvement during their last years of high school. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors currently attending one of the following East Side Union High School District schools: Andrew P. Hill High School, Foothill High School, James Lick High School, Mt. Pleasant High School, and Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit High School. Description: The Arapahoe Pass Scholarship is for students who must be a graduate or graduating senior from a public high school in Boulder County, Colorado. Mark Martinez Scholarship:

Description: The Mark Martinez Scholarship was created to honor the life of Mark Martinez who passed away suddenly on April 17, 2017. A native of the Carbon Valley, Mark attended Frederick schools and graduated from Frederick High School in 1992. Mark enjoyed all aspects of life and definitely left his mark on all he came in contact with. Applicants must be a senior at Frederick High School. They must have no F’s on their transcript. Description: The Abby Sobrato Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors of Latino College Preparatory Academy (LCPA), Luis Valdez Leadership Academy (LVLA) and B. Roberto Cruz Leadership Academy (RCLA) in San Jose, California who contribute to their campus in a meaningful way. Hazel Reed Baumeister Scholarship Program:

Description: The Hazel Reed Baumeister Scholarship Program aims to to support high school graduates of high academic achievement who would be unable to pursue higher education without financial assistance. The selection committee looks for academic promise, documented perseverance in activities outside the classroom, the quality of the personal statement and personal characteristics such as honesty, good judgment and commitment to serving the community. Description: The Maude and Alexander Hadden Scholarship is awarded to exceptionally worthy high school seniors for up to four years of college undergraduate study. In awarding Hadden Scholarships, Youth Foundation considers scholastic achievement, character, leadership, volunteerism, and financial need. SAT and ACT test scores are required. Description: The Harold Johnson Law Enforcement Scholarship is for students who plan to pursue a career in police work, corrections or other criminal justice fields. Applicants must be graduating high school senior, currently enrolled undergraduate student or police academy cadet. Description: The Minnesota Masonic Charities Legacy Scholarship will be awarded to a student who must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in a four-year college or university. Optimist International Essay Contest:

Description: The Optimist International Essay Contest aims to give young people room to develop their own views around a central idea. In addition to the opportunity for written expression, participants have the chance to win a college scholarship. The Optimist International Essay Contest is divided into two levels of competition: Club and District. Interested students should submit essays on the assigned topic to their local Optimist Club. The contest is open to contestants under the age of 19 as of October 1st of the current Optimist International contest year. Club winners may advance to the District contest to compete for a $2,500 college scholarship. Contestants must compose an original essay with limited guidance from others. Immigrant Justice Scholarship:

Description: The Immigrant Justice Scholarship is for students with demonstrated activities or community involvement in social justice efforts that address immigrant issues. Applicants must be current graduating high school seniors or currently enrolled college students who are attending or attended one of the following high schools: Menlo-Atherton High School, Woodside High School, Carlmont High School, Sequoia High School, Redwood High School, TIDE Academy, Summit, Everest, Canada Middle College, East Palo Alto Academy, Eastside College Preparatory (East Palo Alto, California). Students with a demonstrated interest in immigrant social justice issues and a desire to continue to be involved in efforts during college are eligible to apply. Examples of demonstrated interest include community service, school activities, and leadership opportunities taken over their high school career. Preferred applicants will have a demonstrated interest in immigrant-oriented social justice and/or are an immigrant themselves and/or were raised in a first-generation immigrant family. Non-US citizens and undocumented students are eligible and encouraged to apply. Two letters of recommendation are required.

California Wine Grape Growers Foundation Scholarship:

Description: Only the children with a parent or legal guardian employed by a California vineyard during the current or previous winegrape growing season are eligible to apply. However, children with a parent or legal guardian employed by a California winegrape grower may request a waiver from this eligibility requirement based upon financial need.

The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to cover the college educational expenses of students. Description: The National Association of Black Journalists – Visual Task Force (VTF) is a volunteer-led community of Black visual journalists whose goal is to enhance the professional development of new and experienced members while providing engaging mentorship. VTF is a safe and culturally informed community for visual journalists that is inclusive of all disciplines of visual storytelling. We continue to build upon the strong legacy of Black visual journalists who embody the ethics of quality journalism through conventional workshops and networking opportunities. Description: This scholarship program is meant to provide educational assistance to the descendants of those the Ravens supported in their fight for the defense of their country. Scholarships are presented annually to qualifying descendants or legal wards of a Lao or Lao-Hmong individual who served in the Royal Laotian Military or Hmong forces in defense of the Kingdom of Laos between 1960 and 1975. Applicants must be a high school senior or graduate, and must be enrolled or actively seeking to enroll full time in the coming academic year in an undergraduate program of studies leading to a Bachelor or Associate Degree at an accredited college, junior college, or university or a Technical/Trade School in the United States. Selection will be based on an overall evaluation of the applicant’s academic achievement, goals, character, service beyond self, and the quality of their essay. Description: The Wine Group Merit Scholarship will be awarded to the children, grandchildren, or legal dependents of The Wine Group’s employees who are planning to attend an accredited two- or four-year college or vocational school. The employee must have at least one year of continuous, full-time service with TWG as of the scholarship application deadline. Each year, NPVA offers scholarships for students who are committed to volunteering and making a difference in their communities. The Polar Scholarship:

Amount: $1,000
Closing Date: February 28, 2025
Description: The Polar Scholarship program, inspired by the film The Polar Express, offers high school seniors a chance to reach their full potential through education and community service. Applicants must be a high school senior who plans to continue education at a two- or four-year institution or vocational school. Braly SOCO Any Athlete Scholarship:

Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: February 28, 2025
Description: The Braly SOCO Any Athlete Scholarship was created to honor the life of The Braly Family Foundation’s founder, Henry Braly. Henry was a lineman at Longmont High School in the 1950s and continued to play football in college. Applicants must be a senior student at Branson School or Las Animas School in Colorado. Jared Sekich Scholarship:

Amount: $2,000
Closing Date: February 28, 2025
Description: The Jared Sekich Scholarship Scholarship was created in loving memory of Jared Nicholas Sekich, a student at Roosevelt High School who was an active member of the Roosevelt Future Farmers of America (FFA), served as an FFA sentinel, and was a member of the basketball team. Applicants must be a student attending either Roosevelt High School or Mead High School. They must wish to pursue a career in the agricultural field. Joey Irwin Scholarship:

Amount: $10,000
Closing Date: February 28, 2025
Description: The Joey Irwin Scholarship Scholarship was created to honor the life of Joey Irwin who passed away suddenly on April 17, 2017. Joey was an incredibly skilled Master plumber in the community. He lived and breathed his work and thought of most clients as family. Joey had a zest for life and a heart of gold. Applicants must be a senior at Frederick High School. They must wish to pursue a trade or vocational occupation. Applicants must answer five short answer questions and submit a 2-3 minute video as part of their online application. HB 49 LHS Football Scholarship:

Amount: $4,900
Closing Date: February 28, 2025
Description: The HB 49 Longmont Football Scholarship was created to honor the life of Henry Braly, the founder of The Braly Family Foundation. Henry was a lineman at Longmont High School in the 1950s and continued to play football in college. His children, Shari and Kevin Braly, also graduated from Longmont High School. The scholarship amount reflects his football number, 49. Applicants must be a football player. They must be graduating seniors from Longmont High School. Dr. Jack and Margaret Beynon Memorial Scholarship:

Amount: $2,000
Closing Date: February 28, 2025
Description: The Dr. Jack and Margaret Beynon Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to students who must plan to attend an accredited college or university starting this fall. GP Memorial Lyons Athlete Scholarship:

Amount: $5,000

Description: The GP Memorial Lyons Athlete Scholarship was created to honor Henry Braly, the founder of the Braly Family Foundation, who was cherished as a grandfather, known affectionately as ‘GP.’ The scholarship is a tribute from his grandchildren (PDK), who graduated from Lyons Middle/High School and shared many beloved memories with him. NABJ Visual Task Force Scholarship: 

Amount: $3,000
Closing Date: February 29, 2025
Description: The NABJ Visual Task Force Scholarship will be awarded to students with a genuine passion for visual journalism. Qualified candidates will be chosen based on the quality of their portfolio work and their demonstrated commitment to academic excellence. Applicants must be a current NABJ student member in good standing. Eligible applicants include high school juniors, seniors, and college students with at least one full academic year remaining at an accredited U.S. college or university at the time of application and disbursement of funds. National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America, Inc. Annual Scholarship: 

Amount: $5,000
Closing Date: February 29, 2025
Description: The NCBFAA Annual Scholarship program is open to any regular member employee or a child of a regular member employee of NCBFAA who is pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited U.S. college or university for their professional advancement in our industry. Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing either an undergraduate or graduate degree in industry-related studies at an accredited U.S. college or university. This includes high school seniors, as well as students or employees, pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree with an accredited college or university. The applicant should be intending to or already pursuing a career in Customs Brokerage, Freight Forwarding or a related field, such as international trade and supply chain management. All candidates must submit their applications via mail. They may email their essay; however, they must provide a hard copy of the supporting materials before their application will be considered.
