The Allied Health Loan-For-Service increases the number of physician assistants in underserved areas of New Mexico by making educational loans to students in eligible health fields including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, Pharmacy, Respiratory Care, Laboratory Technology, Mental Health-Social Services, Emergency Medical Services, Nutrition, and Dental Hygiene. As a condition of each loan, students must declare their intent to practice as a health professional in a designated shortage area within New Mexico. The Nursing Loan-For-Service aims to increase the number of nurses in areas of New Mexico experiencing shortages by making educational loans to students entering nursing programs. George Hutchinson Writing Competition

Amount: $3,000 Deadline: July 1, 2026

The Federal Circuit Bar Association’s George Hutchinson Writing Competition, named in honor of the first Chief Clerk of the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, is open to all law students enrolled in ABA-accredited law schools. Entries may address any topic within the procedure, substance, or scope of the jurisdiction of the Court. Students may base entries on papers prepared for law school courses and seminars during the 2024–2025 school year. Papers are judged on substance, clarity, timeliness, and quality of argument.

AIChE Environmental Division Graduate Student Paper Award

Amount: $200 – $500 Deadline: July 1, 2026

This award recognizes an outstanding original research paper contributing to environmental protection through the application of chemical engineering. The graduate student must be an AIChE member at time of submission, must be the primary author, and the work must be carried out while enrolled at a university with an accredited chemical engineering program. Papers must describe original research (experimental, numerical, or theoretical) or design — literature reviews are not eligible. Nominations must include a letter detailing the student’s strengths and three to five supporting letters. AIChE Environmental Division Undergraduate Student Paper Award

Amount: $100 – $300 Deadline: July 1, 2026

This award may be given to an undergraduate student who prepares the best original paper based on results of research or investigation related to the environment. The nominee must be in good standing at a college or university with an accredited chemical engineering program and a member of an AIChE Student Chapter. The work must be performed during the student’s undergraduate enrollment and submitted prior to or within six months of graduation. The student must be the sole author, though faculty guidance is encouraged. Nominations must include a brief professional history and three to five supporting letters. Rockefeller State Wildlife Scholarship

Amount: $2,000 – $12,000 Deadline: July 1, 2026

A competitive Louisiana scholarship that awards $2,000 annually to undergraduates and $3,000 annually to graduate students pursuing a degree in forestry, wildlife, or marine science at a Louisiana public college or university. The cumulative maximum award is $12,000 for up to three years of undergraduate study and two years of graduate study. Undergraduate applicants must have earned at least 60 credit hours and a 2.50 cumulative GPA; graduate students must have at least a 3.00 GPA. Applications may be submitted by email or mail.

AMVETS National Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship

Amount: $750 – $1,000 Deadline: July 1, 2026

Established to recognize need, academic achievement, and potential, this scholarship is open to current members of the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary or their sons, daughters, stepsons, stepdaughters, grandchildren, or step-grandchildren. Applicants must submit a 200–500 word resume covering past accomplishments, career and educational goals, and future objectives, along with three letters of recommendation. A letter of acceptance is required if changing schools.

AIChE Outstanding Student Chapter Advisor Award

Amount: $500 Deadline: July 1, 2026

The AIChE Student Chapters Committee formally recognizes outstanding student chapter advisors with this award, given to advisors who have shown exceptional performance guiding their chapters in accordance with AIChE principles. The advisor must have served as advisor of a chartered AIChE student chapter for at least the last three years and must have been an AIChE member during that time. Nominations may be submitted by any AIChE member or associate member, including Student Chapter members. Evert Clark/Seth Payne Award

The CASW Evert Clark/Seth Payne Award encourages young science writers by recognizing outstanding non-technical print and online journalism in any field of science. Eligible publications include newspapers (including college papers), magazines, newsletters, and websites. Both freelancers and staff writers may apply. Books and articles in technical journals or trade publications are not eligible. Applicants must be 30 or younger, and may submit a single article, series, or up to four individual pieces published between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025.

MHEC Workforce Shortage Student Assistance Grant Program

Amount: $2,000 – $4,000 Deadline: July 1, 2026

Maryland’s WSSAG Program supports students planning to work in specific career fields upon graduation — including child care, human services, teaching, nursing, physical and occupational therapy, social work, and public service. Awards are based on both merit (GPA ranking) and need (FAFSA). Applicants must be Maryland residents; if a dependent student, their parent must also be a Maryland resident. New Mexico Nurse Educator Loan-for-Service Program

Amount: $2,500 – $7,500 Deadline: July 1, 2026

This program enhances the ability of college and university nursing educators to obtain BS, MS, and PhD degrees. For every year of service provided, a portion of the loan is forgiven — and if the entire service agreement is fulfilled, 100% of the loan is eligible for forgiveness. Applicants may be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens. They must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours and currently employed full-time (or declare intent to be employed) as a full-time nurse educator at an eligible institution. Bernard Rotberg Memorial Award

Open to direct descendants (child, grandchild, or great-grandchild) of a member in good standing since 2022 of the Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America. Applicants must be high school seniors accepted by an accredited college, university, community college, trade school, or school of nursing as a member of the entering freshman class. All members (including Posthumous) must have joined prior to 2023. Descendants of honorary members and Patrons are not eligible. The Application Form must be signed by the JWV member related to the applicant.

Savor Summer College Scholarship

Amount: $500 Deadline: July 1, 2026

Open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors for the 2024–2025 school year. Applicants must submit one letter of recommendation from a current high school administrator, teacher, employer, or community leader. This scholarship must be used exclusively to offset costs and fees related directly to the student’s first year of higher post-secondary education at an accredited institution within the United States. Leon Brooks Memorial Award

Amount: $1,000 Deadline: July 1, 2026

Applicants must be high school seniors accepted by an accredited college, university, community college, trade school, or school of nursing as a member of the entering freshman class, and must have significant, documented athletic achievement during their high school career. Strong Arm Leukemia Scholarship

Amount: $1,000 Deadline: July 1, 2026

Offered by John Foy and Associates, this scholarship is awarded to a high-achieving student who has battled leukemia or whose life has been affected by it. Applicants must be enrolled (or incoming freshmen) at an accredited college, university, or graduate school in the United States. The American College of Surgeons offers these travel awards to provide international surgeons with the opportunity to attend the ACS annual Clinical Congress. They specifically assist surgeons working in community or regional hospitals in countries other than the U.S. and Canada, or from poorly resourced academic surgical departments.
