Description: The Booker T. Washington Scholarship will be awarded to African-American high school seniors graduating from any Saline County high school. Applicants must have been accepted at an accredited institution of higher learning. Applicants must be of good character. Applicants must submit a resume or a list of community and school activities, honors, and recognition received (if any), employment and volunteer activities. All other criteria being equal, awards will be based on the highest GPA and on financial need. This scholarship is eligible for renewal for up to three years. Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholarship:
Amount: $500 – $5,000

Description: As an HSF Scholar, you will have access to HSF’s invaluable Scholar Support Services and be eligible to receive a scholarship, depending on available funds. Every year, HSF selects outstanding students as HSF Scholars from a broad and talented pool of applicants. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent legal residents, or DACA students. A minimum of 3.0 GPA for high school students is required; and a minimum of 2.5 GPA for college and graduate students is also required. Students must plan to enroll in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school, in the U.S., for the 2024-2025 academic year. Orpha J. & Ernest Milbradt Scholarship:
Amount: $500

Description: The Orpha J. & Ernest Milbradt Scholarship was established to assist graduating high school senior students who will be attending KSU or KU. Applicants must have participated with success in extracurricular school activities (e.g., forensics, music, athletics, etc.). Applicants must have exhibited a strong sense of community involvement (volunteer activities, church activities, etc.). All merit criteria being the same, awards will be based on need. Jody & Doyle Fredrickson Nursing & Health Scholarship:
Amount: $500

Description: The family and friends of Jody Fredrickson, desiring to continue her memory, established a scholarship to a student for the purpose of promoting continued education. Preference is given to the nursing field, but all other health related fields will be considered. Applicants must be graduates or graduating high school seniors from a high school within the Dane G. Hansen Foundation service area, which is defined as the 26 counties in northwest Kansas north of I-70 and west of I-135/Hwy 81. Preference will be given to applicants who are a graduate of or who are qualified from Decatur Community High School, Oberlin, KS. Applicants must plan to major in nursing or another health related field. Applicants must be accepted for admission to qualified post secondary school. Applicants must have demonstrated respect for students and citizens of the school and community and must have demonstrated leadership through active participation in school and community activities. Applicants must also show reverence and concern for life and must have demonstrated a desire to achieve excellence by good school attendance. Pinnacol Foundation Scholarship:
Amount: $4,700
Closing Date: February 15, 2025
Description: The Pinnacol Foundation Scholarships may be used for four-year, two-year or trade programs at accredited colleges, universities, community colleges and vocational schools. Applicants must be the natural child, adopted child, stepchild or full dependent of a worker who was injured or killed in a compensable work-related accident during the course and scope of employment with a Colorado-based employer and was entitled to receive benefits under the Colorado Workers’ Compensation Act. It doesn’t matter which insurance company covered your parent’s claim. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, or be a high school senior. Applicants must submit their Student Aid Report (SAR) from their completed FAFSA and information about their volunteer, extracurricular, and employment experiences. Students may reapply each year. Returning applicants must submit their completed renewal application; most recent cumulative grade transcript; a written update on their progress toward graduation, including their current academic standing; and any new information or updates about their volunteer, extracurricular and employment experiences. Washington State Parent Teacher Association Scholarship Program:
Amount: $2,500

Description: Washington State PTA (WSPTA) offers scholarships to graduating seniors from Washington state public high schools with an active PTA, who will be starting college in the fall. Upon receiving proof of acceptance to college, WSPTA will issue a check to the school the recipient will be attending. At least three volunteer activities are required. Even if students have not decided on which specific college they will be attending, they are still encouraged to apply. Description: Bernt Anker, Sons of Norway member since 2005, feels deeply that college students without parents should have the same opportunity and support as students who come from a two-parent household. It is thanks to Mr. Anker’s generosity that this four-year scholarship is possible. Applicants must have a certificate of completion from high school or be about to graduate high school. Preference will be given to students without parents or to students raised by single parents. There is no SON membership requirement. The scholarship may be used for any field of study. Two letters of recommendation must be submitted. For students without parents, it is required that they submit one recommendation letter to verify their situation, on institutional letterhead from either their high-school guidance counselor, or an official office of their college (such as the financial aid or bursar’s office). Florida Engineering Society High School Scholarships:
Amount: $3,000

Description: FES offers several scholarship programs for high school students interested in pursuing careers in engineering. Applicants must be a high school senior and have been enrolled in one semester and will graduate from a Florida school. Applicants must be a citizen or permanent resident (green card holder) of the United States at the time of application. They must attain a minimum test score on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), or the American College Testing Program (ACT). The minimum scores, listed on page two of the application, are used as a minimum threshold level, with actual test scores being weighed into the scoring process. Applicants must enroll in an engineering program accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). A copy of the official IB, AICE & AP test score sheet must be included with the application. Applications must be submitted to the applicant’s Chapter Representative. High school applicants must submit the application to a representative in the county where their high school is located. For students considered dependents of their parents for income tax purposes, they must submit in the county corresponding to their parents’ residence. Frontline Families Scholarship Program:
Amount: $1,000 – $2,500

Description: The Frontline Families Scholarship Fund was established by Dr. Michael Osterholm, world-renowned epidemiologist, to provide educational assistance to the surviving family members of frontline healthcare workers and volunteers who lost their lives in the fight against COVID-19. Because of the inequitable impact of COVID-19, priority will be given to families who are historically underserved and those who have demonstrated financial need. Applicants must be high school seniors, high school graduates or current college undergraduates. They must be planning to enroll at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year. Children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children age 26 and under as of the application date. The Frontline Families Scholarship Program is not competitive; all eligible applicants will receive awards. Applicants that do not demonstrate financial need, or do not provide financial information, will be eligible to receive a $1,000 award. Applicants who demonstrate financial need will be eligible to receive a $2,500 award. National Press Club Scholarship for Journalism Diversity Honoring Julie School:
Amount: $5,000 – $20,000

Description: The Scholarship for Journalism Diversity Honoring Julie Schoo aims to recruit promising future journalists who will bring diversity to American journalism. The award can be renewed up to three years, for a total of $20,000 toward educational expenses. To be eligible, applicants must be a high school senior in the process of applying for admission to an accredited college or university in the U.S. Students do not need to be a U.S. citizen to apply for this scholarship. Three to five work samples demonstrating the applicant’s ability or a career interest in journalism are required. Work samples can include published work, scripts for broadcast news stories, clips from a podcast, video news stories, other digital media, or other journalistic work samples. Audio or visual work samples should be no longer than 4 minutes per clip. Three letters of recommendation from teachers or professors, employers, leaders of the various groups the applicants are involved with, or other people who are most familiar with their work and work ethic must also be submitted. Archibald Rutledge Scholarship Program:

Description: The Archibald Rutledge Scholarship Program offers twelfth-grade students, enrolled in a public school in South Carolina, the opportunity to compete for a scholarship in creative writing, dance, music, theatre, or visual arts as well as encourages and recognizes academic and artistic excellence among South Carolina students. Students may only apply for one scholarship. For Creative Writing, an entry is defined as an original composition, created by the applicant, utilizing any form of creative writing including but not limited to journals, diaries, letters, memoirs, essays, poetry, storytelling, speeches, and free writing. For Dance, an entry is defined as an original creation of dance choreography timed at three to six minutes created for solo dancer or ensemble in any appropriate movement style. The applicant must perform in the recording of his or her creation. For Music, an entry is defined as an original vocal or instrumental composition created by the applicant timed at four to ten minutes for solo performer or small ensemble utilizing any appropriate compositional technique. Arrangements of existing works will not be permitted for this competition. For Theatre, an entry is defined as an original one-act script created by the applicant with a runtime of eight to fifteen minutes. For Visual Arts, an entry is defined as original artwork that must be a completed, rendered visual creation, produced by the applicant. Art is limited to two-dimensional work such as drawing, painting, mixed media, printmaking, and collage. Artwork must not be copies of master artworks or comic art. Gordon A. Rich Memorial Scholarship:
Amount: $12,500

Description: The Gordon A. Rich Memorial Foundation was created to honor the memory of Gordon Rich. GAR’s mission is to award grants to support the higher education goals of its recipients. Applicants must be dependent children of full-time employees in the financial services industry (commercial banks, investment banks, securities brokerage firms, insurance companies, fund and asset management companies, credit card and finance companies and similar businesses as determined by the Foundation). Employees must be presently employed with five years of experience OR no longer employed in this field but had ten years of experience which ended no longer than five years prior to the program closing date. Applicants must be currently enrolled as high school seniors who plan to enroll at an accredited four year college or university in the U.S. They must also rank in the top 20 percent of their class. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Description: The Junior League of Washington is pleased to announce the application process for the 2025 Meg Graham Scholarship: Celebrating Service and Leadership. The scholarship is open to any high school senior who is a DC resident; attends a public, charter, private, or parochial high school in DC; and is matriculating to an accredited, four-year postsecondary institution in the Fall of 2025. Applicants must have an outstanding volunteer service record, be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 5.0 scale, and show the promise of continued success. Applications must be submitted by February 21, 2025. Finalists will be notified by Monday, March 17, 2025 via e-mail or telephone. In accordance with DC public safety and health requirements, finalists will be required to attend a 30-minute, in-person interview, held at JLW Headquarters on April 5, 2025 or April 6, 2025. 3. Fukunaga Scholarship Foundation Scholarships:

Description: The Fukunaga Scholarship Foundation’s scholarships are awarded to encourage students in the State of Hawaii who intend to have a career in Business to pursue higher education at any accredited four–year college or university. Students who are currently seniors in high school as well as students who are already enrolled in college may apply. This scholarship covers undergraduate degree programs only. In order to be eligible to apply for an award, students must have graduated (or be graduating at the end of the current academic year) from a public, private, or charter high school in the State of Hawaii, or have or will be completing an accredited online high school program while residing in Hawaii. The applicant must impress fellow students, members of the faculty and members of the community as an individual deserving of an opportunity to begin or continue higher education and must have demonstrated personal attributes and the scholastic aptitude needed to achieve educational goals. Mary Morrow-Edna Richards Scholarship:

Description: The Mary Morrow-Edna Richards Scholarship will be awarded to deserving students who plan to pursue teaching in the public schools for North Carolina. Applicants must be enrolled or plan to enroll in a teacher-education program. Applicants must be in their junior year of college or a senior in high school and willing to teach in NC Public schools for at least two years following graduation. Preference may be given to: NC Teacher Cadet students, Future Teachers of America members, SNCAE or Aspiring Educator members, and children and grandchildren of North Carolina Association of Educators members. Other selection criteria include character, diversity, scholastic achievement, evidence of promise as a teacher, and the financial need of the applicant. American Legion Department of Kansas Music Committee Scholarship:

Description: The Music Committee Scholarship is available to all Kansas high school students who have distinguished themselves in the field of music and who will major or minor in music at an approved junior college, college, or university. Applicants must have a distinguished background in the field of music and must be an average or better student scholastically. Only high school seniors and college level freshmen or sophomores will be considered. Applicants must provide three letters of reference; only one must be from the applicant’s music instructor or teacher. Raymond H. Fuller, PE Memorial Scholarship:

Description: The Raymond H. Fuller, PE Memorial Scholarship was established by his wife, Rhoda M. Fuller, as a tribute to his lifelong accomplishments and his desire to promote the engineering profession to young people. Consideration will be given to the prospective recipient’s academic achievement, interest in a career in engineering and financial need as determined by interviews and from references. Recipients must be accepted for enrollment at an Ohio college or university. To be eligible, a student must be a graduating high school senior; and they must meet the minimum SAT (Math-600, Reading or Composition-500) or ACT (Math-29, English-25) test scores as set by the National Society of Professional Engineers. The BAC Local 3 Sullivan Kraw Scholarship:

Description: The BAC Local 3 Sullivan Kraw Scholarship is for current Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 3 California employees and members and/or their spouse, children and grandchildren. The qualifying member must have been a member in good standing of BAC Local 3 California for at least five years immediately preceding the date of application. Applicants must be a currently graduating high school senior, high school graduate, or undergraduate student planning to attend a college or university. Donald A. Smischny Educator Scholarship:

Description: The Donald A. Smischny Educator Scholarship may be awarded to Kansas high school seniors, students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs, or current professionals pursuing a teaching career at USD 327 in Ellsworth, Kansas. Those who have received a baccalaureate (B.A. or B.S.) or graduate (M.A. or M.S.) degree from an accredited post-secondary institution, and may or may not currently be employed as a K-12 teachers; or those currently serving as a K-12 teacher, planning to obtain additional certification or skill enhancement at an accredited institution are eligible to apply. Degrees received or sought must be in education, or in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) field. Rosedale Post 346 Scholarship:

Description: The Rosedale Post 346 Scholarship will be awarded to assist, financially, in the education of needy and worthy children of American Legion members and/or such children of American Legion Auxiliary members of the Department of Kansas. The applicant must be an average or better student scholastically. Only Kansas high school seniors and college level freshmen or sophomores who are enrolled or intend to enroll in an approved college or institution will be considered. The applicant must be the son or daughter of a veteran; the parent(s) must have been a member of the Kansas American Legion and/or Kansas American Legion Auxiliary for the past three consecutive years. The applicant may also be the son or daughter of a deceased member whose membership was paid up in The American Legion and/or Auxiliary in the year of death. Defense Commissary Agency Scholarships for Military Children:

Description: The Scholarships for Military Children program intends that a scholarship funded through contributions be awarded annually at each commissary operated by the Defense Commissary Agency worldwide. The scholarship program is open to unmarried military dependent children under the age 23 who possess a valid Uniformed Services Identification (USID) card. In addition, a student’s parent(s)/sponsor(s) must be one of the following: active duty, reserve/guard, deceased, or retired from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, or Space Force. High school applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; and college applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. College freshmen must submit a first-semester college transcript. The Linda S. Montross New Latin Educators Scholarship:

Description: The National Latin Exam is excited to continue its New Latin Educators Scholarship. In keeping with the spirit of inspiring young people to enter the teaching profession, the NLE will award scholarships to high school seniors, college students, or students enrolled in a master’s degree program. Two recommendation letters must be submitted, one recommendation letter must be from a Latin, Greek, or Classical Studies teacher. Roadway Worker Memorial Scholarship Program:

Description: The Roadway Worker Memorial Scholarship Program provides financial assistance for post-high school education to the dependents of roadway workers killed or permanently disabled in work zone construction or maintenance activities within the work zone, including mobile operations and the installation of roadside safety features. Spouses of fallen workers and parents with custody or legal guardianship of surviving children are also eligible. The scholarship must be applied to a post-secondary school or institution that requires a high school diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) certificate or diploma for admission. This could include any public or private institution. Two letters of recommendation are required. Letters may be from a teacher, school administrator, counselor, member of the clergy or a supervisor who can address the applicant’s qualifications and academic aptitude. Description: The Charles & Annette Hill Scholarship will be used by the American Legion for the purpose of assisting, financially, in the education of needy and worthy children of American Legion Members of the Department of Kansas. Consideration should be given to those applicants desiring to engage in the Fields of Science, Engineering, or Business Administration. The applicant must be a descendant of a veteran who has been a member of The Kansas American Legion for the past three years. The descendents of deceased members in either organization are also eligible if the veteran’s dues were paid-up at time of death. The Jackson Laboratory College Scholarship Program:

Description: Many promising students are unable to pursue higher education due to the financial burden a college education presents. The Jackson Laboratory College Scholarship Program will be awarded to students from underserved backgrounds who will pursue a college degree and aspire to a career in biomedicine. This program is open to graduating high school seniors. Applicants must be nominated by a teacher, administrator, or guidance counselor. Description: We provide nine David & Dovetta Wilson Scholarships annually and distribute umbrella awards to recipients on behalf of families and individuals invested in the support of education and leadership. Scholarship recipients excel academically, engage in civic and/or religious acts of service, and demonstrate a commitment to use their education to give back to our local, state and national communities. IAA Foundation General Scholarship:

Description: The IAA Foundation General Scholarship will be awarded in honor of Prairie Farms Dairy Leadership. Applicants must be an Illinois Farm Bureau member, or spouse or child of member. Applicants must also major in agriculture, agribusiness, or an ag-related field. Applicants may be a previous recipient of an IAA Foundation scholarship, though certain scholarships restrict the number of times an applicant can be a recipient. All applicants must be a high school graduate or be graduating in 2024 and must be accepted for enrollment or be currently enrolled at an accredited college, university, community college or trade school. While applicants may apply for multiple awards, they can only receive one scholarship per program year. In addition to eligibility criteria, recipients are selected based on their activities and involvement in clubs, organizations and their community, their financial plan for funding their education, essay and personal statement responses and academic performance. Description: The Richard and Lou Ann Bergen Scholarship in the Creative Arts will be awarded to Saline County high school seniors attending either Bethany College, Kansas City Art Institute, Kansas State University, Kansas Wesleyan University, University of Kansas, or Wichita State University. Applicants must have interest in the creative arts (arts & humanities) either through their proposed area of study or extra-curricular activities. Preference will be given to students who plan to major or minor in the creative arts field. This scholarship is renewable up to four years. Jeanne & George Frisbie Scholarship:

Description: The Jeanne & George Frisbie Scholarship was established to provide assistance to hard-working graduating high school senior students from Southeast of Saline High School. Applicants must be accepted to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution. Applicants must also have a cumulative GPA of 2.5-3.5. Applicants must be hard-working students and will need to submit a resume and two letters of recommendation that document this characteristic. Description: The Brian C. Garnett Scholarship Salina Central High School will be awarded to graduating high school seniors from Salina Central High School. Applicants must have participated in at least two sanctioned extra-curricular activities during their Junior and Senior years (minimum of one activity per year). Applicants must be degree seeking at any post-secondary institution. Applicants must provide evidence of financial need, which is to be used as a determining factor in cases of equal merit. Ted and Nora Anderson Scholarships:

Description: The Ted and Nora Anderson Scholarship will be awarded to assist financially in the education of needy and worthy children of American Legion members and/or such children of American Legion Auxiliary members of the Department of Kansas. Applicants must be an average or better student scholastically. Only high school seniors and college level freshmen or sophomores who are enrolled or intend to enroll in an approved college or institution will be considered. Applicants must be the son or daughter of a veteran; the parent(s) must have been a member of The Kansas American Legion and/or Kansas American Legion Auxiliary for the past three consecutive years. Applicants may also be the son or daughter of a deceased member whose membership was paid up in The American Legion and/or Auxiliary in the year of death. The applicant’s major field of study will be a factor in the final selection. Please indicate your major field of study. Three letters of recommendation are required, only one must be from a teacher. Description: The Erik Erickson Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to high school senior students graduating from Decatur Community High School. Applicants must be a student in good standing qualifying for graduation from Decatur Community High School. Applicants must provide one letter of reference from a high school instructor indicating that the applicant exhibits honesty, trustworthiness, integrity, good sportsmanship, attendance and citizenship. Preference will be given to applicants who participated in wrestling while in high school. Col. Delbert Townsend Scholarship:

Description: The Col. Delbert Townsend Scholarship is open to students attending Decatur Community High School, Oberlin, KS. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors. Applicants must have attended DCHS for at least two years. Preference will be given to students attending community college, vocational school or technical school. Students attending a 4-year school other than Kansas State University may apply. Four Reference Evaluation Forms are required; two must be completed by school personnel randomly selected by school officials and two must be completed by the people from the community selected by the student.
