Description: Sacramento County is providing financial assistance to Black students studying to be midwives through the Sacramento County Black Midwives Scholarship Program. Applicants may be high school seniors, high school graduates (with a high school diploma or GED), or current undergraduate or graduate students. They must plan to enroll in one the following midwifery licensing programs for the entire upcoming academic year: Mercy In Action College of Midwifery, University of California San Francisco, Nurse Midwifery, Cal State Fullerton Nurse Midwifery, Florida School of Traditional Midwifery, National College of Midwifery, Bastyr University, Midwives College of Utah, and National Midwifery Institute. Current nurses and non-traditional students are encouraged to apply. Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program once per academic year provided they meet eligibility requirements. The Salix Gastrointestinal Health Scholars Award:

Description: The Salix Gastrointestinal Health Scholars Award will be awarded to those who, at the time of application, have applied to, have been accepted to, or are currently attending an accredited college, university, or advanced (post-high school) vocational or technical school for academic year 2024-2025. Applicants must have been diagnosed with and treated for a gastrointestinal condition and have been treated by a licensed healthcare provider. Two letters of recommendation and information about the applicant’s school and community activities must be submitted. Description: The AALAM/Dow Fund Scholarship will be awarded to a law student for the 2023-2024 academic year. The scholarship is awarded each academic year to an Asian American law student who demonstrates leadership potential, maturity and responsibility, a commitment to making a contribution to the Asian American community, an interest in pursuing public interest positions and other indicators of excellence, whether personal, professional or academic. Priority consideration will be given to law students who have secured a public interest position for the summer, but it is not necessary to have a position lined up in advance of submitting an application. Applicants must be enrolled at a law school in Massachusetts or neighboring states, graduating in 2024 or 2025. They must also be a current and active member of AALAM. Description: The Auxiliary Scholarship Committee is offering scholarships to students pursuing undergraduate degrees and seminarian and post-graduate students that will prepare them for ministry (such as pastor, pre-seminary and deaconess studies, deaconess, director of Christian education, or special-needs teacher), so they will have an opportunity to share Jesus’ love and the Gospel message with people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Applicants must be an active, communicant member of a Lutheran congregation. Undergraduate students must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and have a career objective in the field of ministry with people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Seminarians and post-graduate students must be a current college senior, a person accepted to begin seminary or post-graduate studies in the fall, or currently classified as a first-year or second-year student at any Lutheran seminary. Students going on to their internship or vicarage year do not qualify. They must have a commitment to include people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities within the local parish, giving them the opportunity to study God’s Word and serve. Applicants must submit documentation of 100 hours of service to people living with developmental disabilities. Four letters of recommendation, from a pastor, professor, and two non-family members, are also required. Pictures of applicants volunteering or interacting with people with developmental disabilities must also be submitted. Permission to use pictures will be required of each person in the picture. Edmund F. Maxwell Foundation Scholarship:

Description: The Edmund F. Maxwell Foundation Scholarship was established to assist high school seniors from Western Washington in obtaining a higher education. Applicants must have attended the last two years of high school (or homeschool) and lived in a location west of the Cascade Mountains. This award has the potential to be renewed for up to an additional three years of undergraduate education based on reasonable progress toward graduation. A simple renewal application is required each year. Applicants must be pursuing post-secondary education at a private college or university. Applicants must submit their transcript on May 24, 2024. It is optional for 2024 but highly recommended for students to also provide their Standardized Test Scores with their transcript. Scholarships will generally be limited to entering freshmen, with combined math and reading or writing SAT scores of 1200 or higher (or ACT composite scores of over 26). Hunt, Jr. Scholarship aims to promote and encourage the study of architecture by New York City public high school students through a two-year scholarship to supplement tuition and related costs during their freshman and sophomore years at a NAAB-accredited school of architecture in the U.S. Applicants must be current New York City public high school seniors who have been accepted to a 5-year Bachelor of Architecture program at a NAAB-accredited School of Architecture in the U.S. Students at NYC Charter High Schools are eligible. Students at private, parochial or other schools where tuition is charged are not eligible. Applicants are encouraged to submit the portfolio which had been previously submitted to the Bachelor of Architecture program they are pursuing, if applicable. The digital portfolio must consist of at least 3-4 pieces of the student’s own visual art, design, or architecture work, though applicants may submit additional work if they feel it is relevant to their application. Projects may be 2-D or 3-D, and can be both finished and/or in-process projects. If a group project is submitted, the student must indicate their role in the project. Third Marine Division Association Memorial Scholarship Fund:

Description: Established in 1969, to honor the loss in The Republic of Vietnam of Division Commander General Bruno A. Hochmuth, the MSF has been providing need-based financial assistance to qualified applicants who have consistently demonstrated excellence in colleges and universities across the United States. The mission in 1969 was to provide assistance to dependents of Third Marine Division members who lost their lives in Vietnam or whose post service death had been certified by the Department of Veterans Affairs to be the result of hostile enemy action or other disabilities incurred. Applicants for the Third Marine Division Association Memorial Scholarship Fund must be children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of those Association members who have held Association membership for at least two consecutive years immediately prior to the eligible dependent child’s first application for scholarship assistance. Any personnel who has been recently honorably discharged having been a member of or attached to a unit of the Third Marine Division (Reinf) provided the person has held Association membership for a period of at least two consecutive years immediately prior to the date of the first application, be current on all annual dues payments and who continues his or her membership for the entire period of their financial assistance is eligible. Awards may be awarded for any approved course of study in an accredited college or university, or for any approved course of study in an accredited and approved post-high school trade school institution. Applicants must be enrolled in each semester for not less than 12 credit hours. Awards will not be given in excess of four years of undergraduate study except for some special circumstances. First time applicants must submit a copy of their birth certificate; their transcript for Spring 2023; copy of 2024 school acceptance or enrollment letter; copy of a marriage license for married applicants; and a copy of Form DD-214 (and DD-215 if applicable). Description: The Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity is a four-year renewable scholarship open to exceptionally Innovative and Creative high school seniors and first-time college freshmen. This scholarship is not a traditional scholarship focused on rewarding academic achievement and financial need. Its specific goal is to reward and encourage innovative and creative problem solving. The scholarship aims to honor students who excel as creative problem-solvers and to help make their higher education goals more accessible. Description: The CLA Scholarship for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) Students in Memory of Edna Yelland encourages and supports students in the attainment of a graduate degree in library or information studies and encourages commitment to the improvement of library services to BIPOC communities. Applicants must be enrolled in an ALA-accredited master’s of library and information science or information studies program and have completed one or more courses (applications from students at institutions actively seeking accreditation are also welcome). Description: The NMCRS Education Assistance Program is designed to help eligible Navy and Marine Corps families pursue their academic goals by providing scholarships and interest-free loans. Awards are provided based on the applicant’s financial need, and in accordance with policies established by the Society’s Board of Directors. Scholarships and interest-free education loans are awarded once per academic year. Scholarships range from $500-$3000 and loans are available up to $4000. Students may reapply each year. Description: The Marian Wood Baird College Scholarship is available to high school seniors who have excelled academically, demonstrated achievements in leadership and participated extensively in an organized community tennis program (such as USTA School Tennis, USTA National Junior Tennis League (NJTL), USTA Team Tennis or USTA High Performance or other such qualified programs as determined by the Scholarship Committee). Description: The purpose of the Chopin Foundation Scholarship Program is to support and encourage young, talented American pianists through up to four years of preparation for the National Chopin Piano Competition of the United States, which is held in Miami, Florida, every five years. Renewable scholarships are awarded each year on a competitive basis to outstanding young American pianists who demonstrate a special affinity for the interpretation of Frederic Chopin’s music. In addition, the Scholarship Committee may grant half-awards in the amount of $500 to qualified applicants. A half-award may be granted to an applicant only once during the four-year program. Two recommendations from piano teachers or professional piano performers must be submitted. Applicants must also submit an unedited video of them performing Chopin’s works. Description: The Bill Farr Memorial Scholarship scholarship is awarded to high school seniors or college students who demonstrate a strong intent to pursue a career in journalism. SPJ/LA will award scholarships to aspiring journalists who are students in an accredited journalism program in Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties. Applicants must demonstrate their potential to succeed in news, sports, and photojournalism media careers.
