Kathern F. Gruber Scholarship:

Amount: $2,000

Open To: High School & In-College Students

Description: The Kathern F. Gruber Scholarship Program was established to support and assist spouses, children, and grandchildren of blind and low vision veterans, and those of active-duty blind and low vision service members of the U.S. Armed Forces. The blind or low vision veteran family member is not required to be a BVA member for the spouse, child, or grandchild to receive a scholarship. Additionally, to be eligible for one of the scholarships, an applicant must have been accepted for admission, or already be enrolled, as a student in an accredited institution of higher education, or business, secretarial, or vocational training school. Successful applicants for the scholarships must have demonstrated excellence in their past academic work and promising potential for achievement in higher education pursuits. The Gruber scholarships for veterans’ dependents are for one year only but recipients can re-apply and receive the award up to four times during their academic careers. Arizona Nursery Association Foundation Scholarships:

Description: The Arizona Nursery Association Foundation awards scholarships to worthy students each year. Applicants must be currently or planning to be enrolled in a horticultural-related curriculum at a university, community college, or continuing education program. Applicants must be currently employed in or have an interest in the nursery industry as a career; have an above average scholastic achievement or at least two years work experience in the industry; and, display involvement in extracurricular activities related to the industry. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation from any of the following: ornamental horticulture instructor, counselor, employer, club/activity advisory, or community or church leader. Description: The objectives of the AIST Northern Pacific Scholarships are to reward and encourage area high school seniors or currently enrolled undergraduate students by providing a grant of financial support during attendance at any accredited North American college or university. Up to four one-year university scholarships and up to four one-year college or technical school scholarships will be awarded to students. Applicants must be accepted into, planning to attend, or currently enrolled in an eligible curriculum at an accredited university or college. For the University Scholarship, applicants must be the child (including step-children, adopted children or wards), grandchild, niece, nephew, or the spouse of an active AIST Northern Pacific Chapter member in good standing, or a member of the Material Advantage Student Program living in or attending a university located in the AIST Northern Pacific Member Chapter area. Description: The Elevate Mental Health Awareness Scholarship is dedicated to Sherise Rosser, a wonderful woman who taught her daughter the power of authenticity, belief, and compassion. To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be a current high school, undergraduate, or graduate school student attending school in the United States. . They must have personally experienced challenges with mental health or have had people close to them who have experienced mental health challenges. All GPAs will be considered. Women’s Jewelry Association Student Scholarships:

Description: The WJA Foundation provides scholarships to female-identifying students enrolled in jewelry, metalsmithing or watch programs at an accredited college, university, or training school between August 1, 2024 and July 31, 2025. Scholarships are awarded in three categories: (1) Designer/Creator: based on images of finished pieces that are designed and created by the student; (2) Designer: based on designs by the student, includes CAD and drawings; (3) Non-Designer: essay-based for those studying to be a gemologist, appraiser, watchmaker, bench jeweler, or retailer. Mike and Gail Donley Spouse Scholarship:

Amount: $2,500

Description: The Mike and Gail Donley Spouse Scholarships provides a scholarship annually to encourage Air Force or Space Force spouses worldwide to pursue higher education. The applicant must be a spouse of Air Force Active Duty, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, Space Force, or Department of the Air Force Civilian employee to be eligible. Spouses who are themselves Air or Space Force personnel, or in ROTC, are not eligible. If you are not currently enrolled, then in addition to an official transcript, include a letter from your college or university that confirms your intent to carry the required hours next semester. If you have no prior college or university course work, include proof of acceptance to an accredited college or university. A letter of recommendation should be character references and descriptions of your performance and potential as a student, employee or volunteer. Description: The D.W. Simpson Actuarial Science Scholarships are awarded to students entering their senior year of undergraduate study in actuarial science. Applicants must have maintained a GPA of 3.2 or higher in their major and an overall GPA of 3.0 or better. They must have passed at least 1 actuarial examination and are eligible to work in the United States full-time for any employer without requiring employer sponsorship. Description: The International Bowling Media Association (IBMA) may annually award the Chuck Pezzano Scholarships to students attending college or graduating high school seniors planning on attending college. To be eligible, applicants must be interested in writing about bowling either as a volunteer, part- or full-time media; and participate in the sport of bowling, although bowling skills are not a requisite. The first step to apply is to fill out the online pre-application survey. Once this is received and the information you have provided meets the application qualifications as listed above, you will receive a full application to fill out and submit. Tang Scholarship:

Description: The Tang Scholarship is for Asian/Pacific Islander youth, self-identified as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender who have demonstrated involvement in the LGBT community. Applicants must self-identify as Asian or Pacific Islander (at least 25 percent Asian or Pacific Islander ancestry), lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender and involved in the LGBT community. Applicants must be graduates of a high school in one of the nine Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Napa, Sonoma or Solano, and they must be between the age of 17 and 25 on 30 April 2023. Two letters of reference from a teacher or academic advisor, and from a work or volunteer supervisor, a youth leader or personal acquaintance are required. These scholarships are renewable for a maximum of three additional years (for a total of four years), provided each student annually meets the renewal requirements. Description: The Upakar Foundation Scholarship is for students who have either been born or have one parent born in the Republic of India. Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card) holder. They must have a prior year Family Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) on the IRS form 1040 of less than $90,000. Description: The Bob Marley: One Love Social Impact Scholarships will support rising sophomore, junior, and senior students pursuing degrees in community organizing, nonprofit management, public policy, or social justice related degree programs. Pi Gamma Mu Scholarships:

Description: Members of Pi Gamma Mu are qualified to be the recipient of a scholarship award to attend graduate school. Scholarships are intended for first time graduate students. Students who have already earned an advanced degree are not eligible to apply. The degree program must be in one of the following areas of study: anthropology, criminal justice, economics, geography-human, gerontology, history, history of education, human services, international relations, political science, psychology, social philosophy, sociology, social work, as well as related interdisciplinary programs anchored in the Social Sciences, particularly those that focus on age, environment, ethnicity, gender, race, and regional studies. Other interdisciplinary fields will be considered on an individual basis based upon the degree to which the social sciences are an integral component of the overall course of study. In such cases, applicants should submit a program description outlining requirements and coursework. Previous recipients of Pi Gamma Mu scholarships are not eligible to apply again. Description: The American Legion Department of Maine Children and Youth Scholarships will be awarded to students who must demonstrate financial need. Please enclose three letters with this application: one from yourself stating why you wish a scholarship and what field you want to work in after college; one from your principal or guidance counselor (other source if you are no longer in high school; and one from an outside person, other than family. Description: The Ralph W. Shrader Graduate Diversity Scholarship will be awarded to students (women and minority students), enrolled in at least their second semester and at least two semester-equivalent courses, currently pursuing a graduate degree at any accredited academic institution in the United States and living in the United States in an eligible major that supports the mission of AFCEA Educational Foundation. The complete list of the qualified stem majors are on the scholarship’s website. The expected graduation date cannot be in the year the scholarship is awarded. AFCEA’s focus is on STEM or hard sciences such as information technology, cybersecurity, telecommunications electronics supporting defense, homeland security and intelligence communities. The student’s current official transcript issued by the school Registrar’s Office is required. They must also submit their undergraduate transcript, either official or unofficial. A minimum two letters of recommendation from the faculty in the student’s major of study are required. Richard A. Herbert Memorial Scholarship:

Description: Applicants for the Richard A. Herbert Memorial Scholarship must be an AWRA member and must be enrolled for the full 2022-2023 academic year. The scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student working toward their first undergraduate degree, and will also be awarded to a graduate student enrolled in a program relating to water resources. The undergraduate scholarship will be awarded to the student member most qualified by academic performance. Measures of academic performance include the cumulative grade point average, relevance of the student’s curriculum to water resources, and leadership in extracurricular activities related to water resources. The Earl Warren Scholarship:

Description: The Earl Warren Scholarship is awarded annually to rising law students whose commitment to racial justice reveals outstanding potential for training as civil rights and public interest attorneys. Eligible law students include those entering their first or second year of legal study at an accredited law school in the United States. The scholarship will be awarded for three years. There is no minimum test score or GPA requirement. Candidates are judged holistically and by the full sum of their achievements and contributions. Any application review will take into account a candidate’s GPA, standardized test scores, letters of recommendation, volunteer activities and personal essays; however, no single component of an application will determine a scholarship award. Douglas J.J. Peters Veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq Conflicts Scholarship Program:

Description: The Douglas J.J. Peters Veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq Conflicts Scholarship Program is designed to provide financial assistance to United States armed forces personnel who served in the Afghanistan or Iraq Conflicts, and their son, daughter, stepson, stepdaughter, or spouse. Current deployments are not eligible for the scholarship. Applicants must have been accepted for admission or enrolled in a regular undergraduate program at an eligible institution, or be accepted for admission or enrolled in a 2-year terminal certificate program in which the course work is acceptable for transfer credit for an accredited baccalaureate program at an eligible institution. If a spouse of a veteran, a marriage certificate must be submitted. The DD214 military orders or other official documentation must clearly indicate service in Afghanistan or Iraq or contiguous waters or air space and include the dates of service. While the FAFSA is not required, if the applicant chooses to file the FAFSA it must be completed by March 1 priority deadline or before June 1, 2024. Awards are made annually, with renewal applicants given first priority. Eligible applicants who are veterans shall be given priority over dependent biological sons or daughters; or spouses. Awards may be held for up to five years if a full-time student or eight years if a part-time student. Associated General Contractors NYS Scholarship Program:

Amount: $2,500 – $5,000

Description: The Associated General Contractors NYS Scholarship Program will award scholarships to students who must be New York State residents. They may be attending a school outside of New York. Applicants must be seriously intent upon a career in the building, highway or utility construction industry. Applicants must pursue a Bachelor or Associate degree in construction or construction-related engineering. Students must reapply each year for up to three years of undergraduate study. Graduate students (Master’s) are also eligible for a one-year scholarship if they are studying full-time for an advanced construction-related field and are intent upon a career in the industry. Christopher Mark Pitkin Memorial Scholarship:

Description: The Christopher Mark Pitkin Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to individuals who demonstrate Pitkin’s principles of goal-orientation and motivation. Awards of the scholarship will be based primarily upon the applicant’s statements of goals and intentions as well as extracurricular involvement within his or her community. Applicants must be planning to pursue post-secondary education or are pursuing a graduate degree or continuing education program. Applicants must be a person with a bleeding disorder or must have an immediate family member with a bleeding disorder (such as a sibling of, child of, or spouse of someone with a bleeding disorder). Applicants must be a resident of, or have permanent address in, one of the eligible Southern California counties. Priority will be given to applicants who are actively involved with HFSC as a community member participant or volunteer. Priority will also be given to those with a bleeding disorder diagnosis and to first-time applicants. A perfect GPA or extensive extracurricular activities are not necessary for applicants to be considered for the scholarship as we acknowledge that living with a bleeding disorder can be challenging. Sacramento County Black Midwives Scholarship:

Amount: $25,000 – $50,000

Description: Sacramento County is providing financial assistance to Black students studying to be midwives through the Sacramento County Black Midwives Scholarship Program. Applicants may be high school seniors, high school graduates (with a high school diploma or GED), or current undergraduate or graduate students. They must plan to enroll in one the following midwifery licensing programs for the entire upcoming academic year: Mercy In Action College of Midwifery, University of California San Francisco, Nurse Midwifery, Cal State Fullerton Nurse Midwifery, Florida School of Traditional Midwifery, National College of Midwifery, Bastyr University, Midwives College of Utah, and National Midwifery Institute. Current nurses and non-traditional students are encouraged to apply. Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program once per academic year provided they meet eligibility requirements. The Salix Gastrointestinal Health Scholars Award:

Description: The Salix Gastrointestinal Health Scholars Award will be awarded to those who, at the time of application, have applied to, have been accepted to, or are currently attending an accredited college, university, or advanced (post-high school) vocational or technical school for academic year 2024-2025. Applicants must have been diagnosed with and treated for a gastrointestinal condition and have been treated by a licensed healthcare provider. Two letters of recommendation and information about the applicant’s school and community activities must be submitted. Signed 2024 Medical Statement Form confirming the applicant’s gastrointestinal condition is also required. Four awards are available to undergraduate students; four awards are available to graduate students; one award is available to working parent pursuing undergraduate, vocational or technical, or graduate degrees; and one award is available to single parent pursuing undergraduate, vocational or technical, or graduate degrees. AALAM/Dow Fund Scholarship:

Description: The AALAM/Dow Fund Scholarship will be awarded to a law student for the 2023-2024 academic year. The scholarship is awarded each academic year to an Asian American law student who demonstrates leadership potential, maturity and responsibility, a commitment to making a contribution to the Asian American community, an interest in pursuing public interest positions and other indicators of excellence, whether personal, professional or academic. Priority consideration will be given to law students who have secured a public interest position for the summer, but it is not necessary to have a position lined up in advance of submitting an application. Applicants must be enrolled at a law school in Massachusetts or neighboring states, graduating in 2024 or 2025. They must also be a current and active member of AALAM. Description: NSHSS Ambassadors are student leaders within their high schools who exhibit academic excellence and a strong commitment to community service. AbleLight and Bethesda Auxiliary Scholarships:

Description: The Auxiliary Scholarship Committee is offering scholarships to students pursuing undergraduate degrees and seminarian and post-graduate students that will prepare them for ministry (such as pastor, pre-seminary and deaconess studies, deaconess, director of Christian education, or special-needs teacher), so they will have an opportunity to share Jesus’ love and the Gospel message with people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Applicants must be an active, communicant member of a Lutheran congregation. Undergraduate students must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and have a career objective in the field of ministry with people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Seminarians and post-graduate students must be a current college senior, a person accepted to begin seminary or post-graduate studies in the fall, or currently classified as a first-year or second-year student at any Lutheran seminary. Students going on to their internship or vicarage year do not qualify. They must have a commitment to include people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities within the local parish, giving them the opportunity to study God’s Word and serve. Applicants must submit documentation of 100 hours of service to people living with developmental disabilities. Four letters of recommendation, from a pastor, professor, and two non-family members, are also required. Pictures of applicants volunteering or interacting with people with developmental disabilities must also be submitted. Permission to use pictures will be required of each person in the picture. Edmund F. Maxwell Foundation Scholarship:

Description: The Edmund F. Maxwell Foundation Scholarship was established to assist high school seniors from Western Washington in obtaining a higher education. Applicants must have attended the last two years of high school (or homeschool) and lived in a location west of the Cascade Mountains. This award has the potential to be renewed for up to an additional three years of undergraduate education based on reasonable progress toward graduation. A simple renewal application is required each year. Applicants must be pursuing post-secondary education at a private college or university. Applicants must submit their transcript on May 24, 2024. It is optional for 2024 but highly recommended for students to also provide their Standardized Test Scores with their transcript. Scholarships will generally be limited to entering freshmen, with combined math and reading or writing SAT scores of 1200 or higher (or ACT composite scores of over 26). Description: Scholarships are awarded based on scholastic achievement, character, worthiness, and participation in religious life, to women of The Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America who have completed their first year of a baccalaureate program at an accredited college or university. Applicants must be a communicant member, or daughter of a communicant member, of a parish or mission of The Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America for at least one year prior to application. Three letters of recommendation must be submitted. They must be from: 1) the applicant’s Parish Priest, if applicant is the wife or daughter of the priest, then from another priest; 2) an official high school representative who can attest to the applicant’s education accomplishments, abilities and goals; and 3) another non-clergy individual, not related to the applicant, who can attest to her character. Scholarships are awarded based on scholastic achievement, character, worthiness, and participation in religious life, to women of The Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America who have completed a baccalaureate degree and have been accepted for post-graduate studies at an accredited college or university. Applicants must be a voting communicant member of a parish or mission of The Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America for at least one year prior to application. Three letters of recommendation must be submitted. They must be from: 1) the applicant’s Parish Priest, if applicant is the wife or daughter of the priest, then from another priest; 2) an official college or university representative who can attest to the applicant’s education accomplishments, abilities and goals; and 3) another non-clergy individual, not related to the applicant, who can attest to the applicant’s character. Description: The Walter A. Hunt, Jr. Scholarship aims to promote and encourage the study of architecture by New York City public high school students through a two-year scholarship to supplement tuition and related costs during their freshman and sophomore years at a NAAB-accredited school of architecture in the U.S. Applicants must be current New York City public high school seniors who have been accepted to a 5-year Bachelor of Architecture program at a NAAB-accredited School of Architecture in the U.S. Students at NYC Charter High Schools are eligible. Students at private, parochial or other schools where tuition is charged are not eligible. Applicants are encouraged to submit the portfolio which had been previously submitted to the Bachelor of Architecture program they are pursuing, if applicable. The digital portfolio must consist of at least 3-4 pieces of the student’s own visual art, design, or architecture work, though applicants may submit additional work if they feel it is relevant to their application. Projects may be 2-D or 3-D, and can be both finished and/or in-process projects. If a group project is submitted, the student must indicate their role in the project. Two letters of recommendation are required. Applicants are encouraged to submit the recommendation letters previously submitted to the Bachelor of Architecture program they are pursuing. One recommendation letter must be from a teacher in their high school; the second may be from an employer, person in the field of architecture or other adult. Third Marine Division Association Memorial Scholarship Fund:

Description: Established in 1969, to honor the loss in The Republic of Vietnam of Division Commander General Bruno A. Hochmuth, the MSF has been providing need-based financial assistance to qualified applicants who have consistently demonstrated excellence in colleges and universities across the United States. The mission in 1969 was to provide assistance to dependents of Third Marine Division members who lost their lives in Vietnam or whose post service death had been certified by the Department of Veterans Affairs to be the result of hostile enemy action or other disabilities incurred. Applicants for the Third Marine Division Association Memorial Scholarship Fund must be children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of those Association members who have held Association membership for at least two consecutive years immediately prior to the eligible dependent child’s first application for scholarship assistance. Any personnel who has been recently honorably discharged having been a member of or attached to a unit of the Third Marine Division (Reinf) provided the person has held Association membership for a period of at least two consecutive years immediately prior to the date of the first application, be current on all annual dues payments and who continues his or her membership for the entire period of their financial assistance is eligible. Awards may be awarded for any approved course of study in an accredited college or university, or for any approved course of study in an accredited and approved post-high school trade school institution. Applicants must be enrolled in each semester for not less than 12 credit hours. Awards will not be given in excess of four years of undergraduate study except for some special circumstances. First time applicants must submit a copy of their birth certificate; their transcript for Spring 2023; copy of 2024 school acceptance or enrollment letter; copy of a marriage license for married applicants; and a copy of Form DD-214 (and DD-215 if applicable). All applicants must submit a copy of their school’s financial award letter; copy of their school’s annual cost of attendance letter; their FAFSA; and essay.
