Description: The Thomas R. McGetchin Memorial Scholarship Award honors the late Thomas R. McGetchin, former Lunar and Planetary Institute Director, for his significant contributions in the area of volcanic and igneous processes, work accomplished through field, experimental, and theoretical investigations of volcanic activity on Earth, the Moon, and Mars. Applicants must be undergraduate students attending a four-year accredited college or university that offers courses leading to a degree in science or engineering. Barden, who was active in the aviation community for decades and who served as chair of the NBAA Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition Local Committee eight times, more than any other person in NBAA history.
