Description: Applications for the Beulah Frey Environmental Scholarship are open to graduating high school seniors who are applying to two or four-year colleges to further their studies in an environmentally-related field. Graduating seniors from both private and public high schools within ASWP’s region are eligible to apply. A letter of recommendation from a person with whom the applicant has interacted in environmentally-related activities, and/or courses, and who can speak to the applicant’s initiative, dedication, and achievements must be submitted. Wilderness Society Gloria Barron Scholarship:

Description: The Gloria Barron Wilderness Society Scholarship seeks to encourage individuals who have the potential to make a significant positive difference in understanding wilderness and how to protect it. It was created in honor of Gloria Barron, a dedicated educator and tireless advocate for wilderness protection. The scholarship is available to currently qualified graduate students in the United States. The awards will be given to students to support their research and preparation of a paper on an aspect of wilderness. The research paper should address an aspect of the establishment, protection, or management of wilderness. The applicant may choose to discuss a subject relevant to current programs of The Wilderness Society or introduce a new topic. Proposed work may apply to a particular landscape or it may address issues broadly. Applicants must have strong academic qualifications; and have academic and/or career goals focused on making a significant positive difference in the long-term protection of wilderness in the United States. Two letters of recommendation are required. The letters must describe the applicant’s ability to meet the objectives of the scholarship and proposed work. Description: The Brave of Heart Scholarship was established to provide support to families of frontline healthcare workers, volunteers, and support staff whose lives were lost in the fight against COVID-19. Applicants must be a child, spouse or domestic partner of a frontline healthcare worker who lost their life to a COVID-19-related cause. The child must be living in the frontline healthcare worker’s household or primarily supported by the frontline healthcare worker. If the child is enrolled in a graduate school program, they must be age 26 and under and may be financially dependent or independent to be eligible. To continue receiving scholarship assistance beyond age 26, children must then continue to apply for the Brave of Heart Scholarship (uninterrupted) and maintain continuous enrollment in their program (uninterrupted), with the exception of summer vacation. Frontline healthcare worker is defined as a person who lived in the United States at the time of death and worked or volunteered in or for a licensed hospital, medical center or clinic, nursing home, medical transport vehicle, triage center, or other licensed medical facility, provider, or setting, or who worked or volunteered as an emergency medical technician, ambulance technician or paramedic. The individual must have had the possibility of exposure to patients with COVID-19 while working or volunteering. Applicants must plan to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate program (graduate program must have a patient-facing medical major). AIANTA Tourism & Hospitality Scholarship:

Description: AIANTA is proud to offer the Tourism & Hospitality Scholarship, which provides American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian students with financial assistance towards a degree or certificate in hospitality, tourism, recreation, culinary arts or related fields. Applicants must be a high school senior or a student accepted into an accredited higher education institution at the time of application. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is recommended, although all current or future undergraduate and graduate college students are encouraged to apply. Scholarship recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA. Description: The CentraState Associated Auxiliaries Scholarship Program will offer three scholarships each year to students and adults who live and volunteer in the CentraState service area. Two will be awarded to graduating high school seniors pursuing a career in the healthcare field. Description: The ENA Foundation Pamela Stinson Kidd Doctoral Scholarship is open to applicants who are emergency nurses pursuing a doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, or EdD). Applicants must be attending an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution and must provide verification of the institution’s current accreditation. Two letters of recommendation are required; one of which must be from a current ENA member in good standing. Description: The Kathern F. Gruber Scholarship Program was established to support and assist spouses, children, and grandchildren of blind and low vision veterans, and those of active-duty blind and low vision service members of the U.S. Armed Forces. The blind or low vision veteran family member is not required to be a BVA member for the spouse, child, or grandchild to receive a scholarship. Additionally, to be eligible for one of the scholarships, an applicant must have been accepted for admission, or already be enrolled, as a student in an accredited institution of higher education, or business, secretarial, or vocational training school. Successful applicants for the scholarships must have demonstrated excellence in their past academic work and promising potential for achievement in higher education pursuits. The Gruber scholarships for veterans’ dependents are for one year only but recipients can re-apply and receive the award up to four times during their academic careers. Description: The objectives of the AIST Northern Pacific Scholarships are to reward and encourage area high school seniors or currently enrolled undergraduate students by providing a grant of financial support during attendance at any accredited North American college or university. Up to four one-year university scholarships and up to four one-year college or technical school scholarships will be awarded to students. Applicants must be accepted into, planning to attend, or currently enrolled in an eligible curriculum at an accredited university or college. For the University Scholarship, applicants must be the child (including step-children, adopted children or wards), grandchild, niece, nephew, or the spouse of an active AIST Northern Pacific Chapter member in good standing, or a member of the Material Advantage Student Program living in or attending a university located in the AIST Northern Pacific Member Chapter area. Description: The WJA Foundation provides scholarships to female-identifying students enrolled in jewelry, metalsmithing or watch programs at an accredited college, university, or training school between August 1, 2024 and July 31, 2025. Description: The Mike and Gail Donley Spouse Scholarships provides a scholarship annually to encourage Air Force or Space Force spouses worldwide to pursue higher education. The applicant must be a spouse of Air Force Active Duty, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, Space Force, or Department of the Air Force Civilian employee to be eligible. Spouses who are themselves Air or Space Force personnel, or in ROTC, are not eligible. If you are not currently enrolled, then in addition to an official transcript, include a letter from your college or university that confirms your intent to carry the required hours next semester. If you have no prior college or university course work, include proof of acceptance to an accredited college or university. Description: The International Bowling Media Association (IBMA) may annually award the Chuck Pezzano Scholarships to students attending college or graduating high school seniors planning on attending college. To be eligible, applicants must be interested in writing about bowling either as a volunteer, part- or full-time media; and participate in the sport of bowling, although bowling skills are not a requisite. The first step to apply is to fill out the online pre-application survey. Description: The Tang Scholarship is for Asian/Pacific Islander youth, self-identified as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender who have demonstrated involvement in the LGBT community. Applicants must self-identify as Asian or Pacific Islander (at least 25 percent Asian or Pacific Islander ancestry), lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender and involved in the LGBT community. Applicants must be graduates of a high school in one of the nine Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Napa, Sonoma or Solano, and they must be between the age of 17 and 25 on 30 April 2023. Two letters of reference from a teacher or academic advisor, and from a work or volunteer supervisor, a youth leader or personal acquaintance are required. Description: The PHCC Educational Foundation and its industry partners are teaming up to provide financial assistance to students pursuing a career in the p-h-c industry. Applicants must be currently enrolled in or plan to enroll in: (1) A PHCC-approved plumbing or HVACR apprentice program or the Foundation’s Fast Track to Service & Repair online courses. Apprentices or technicians must also be working full-time for a licensed plumbing or HVAC contractor who is a member of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association. Approved courses of study are plumbing or HVACR installation, service and repair. Check to see if your employer is a member of PHCC here. (2) A full-time certificate or degree program at an accredited two-year community college, technical college, or trade school, with a major directly related to the plumbing-heating-cooling (p-h-c) profession. Approved majors are: business management; mechanical CAD design; construction management with a specialty in mechanical construction; and plumbing or HVACR installation, service and repair. (3) A full-time undergraduate degree program at an accredited four-year college or university, with a major directly related to the plumbing-heating-cooling (p-h-c) profession. The program is also open to Canadian citizen apprentices enrolled in a PHCC-approved plumbing or HVACR apprentice program. Description: The Eastern Orthodox Committee on Scouting offers scholarships each year to those who best demonstrate love of God and the Orthodox Christian Faith through service, scholarship, leadership, and practical citizenship in their church, school, Scouting unit, and community. Applicants must be registered active members of an EOCS-recognized program: Boy Scouts of America (Scouts BSA, Exploring, Venturing), Girl Scouts of the USA, Trail Life USA, American Heritage Girls, and Camp Fire. They must have earned the highest award of that program. Applicants must also be a communicant member of an Eastern Orthodox Christian Jurisdiction recognized by the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the USA. Description: The AFCEA General ROTC Scholarship will be awarded to Army, Navy, Marine Corps, or Air Force ROTC students studying a STEM major. All applicants must be of good moral character; demonstrate academic excellence; have a financial need; and the potential to serve as an officer in the U.S. Armed Forces. Applicants must submit a transcript which may be an official copy issued by the school Registrar’s Office or an unofficial copy verified by the applicant’s ROTC unit. One letter of recommendation from the faculty in the student’s major of study is required. Description: The Vegetarian Resource Group each year will award scholarship money to graduating US high school students who have promoted vegetarianism in their schools and/or communities. HRSA Nurse Corps Scholarship Program:

Description: The HRSA Nurse Corps Scholarship Program provides scholarships to nursing students in exchange for a minimum two-year, full-time service commitment (or part-time equivalent) at an eligible health care facility with a critical shortage of nurses. Funding preference is given to applicants with the greatest financial need. Applicants must be accepted or enrolled at an accredited school of nursing located in the United States or territory, pursuing a nursing degree or certificate program. Types of eligible nursing programs include Diploma in Nursing; Associate degree in Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Graduate-level nurse practitioner; Graduate level advanced registered nurse; and Bridge Nursing Graduate-level Programs. They must begin taking classes on or before September 30, 2024 for academic term 2024-2025. Applicants must also be a US citizen (born or naturalized), a national, or a lawful permanent resident. Applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation, one academic and one non-academic. If the applicant is currently enrolled in the nursing program, the academic recommendation letter should be from the department chair, faculty advisor, or a faculty member of that academic program who can attest to the applicant’s qualifications. If the applicant has not begun the training associated with the scholarship, the academic letter should be from the department chair, faculty advisor, or a faculty member of the applicant’s most recent academic program. Description: The Dr. Earl James Fahringer Performing Arts Scholarship will be awarded each year to students pursuing a major in music, arts, drama, or dance. Applicants must be a person with a bleeding disorder or must have an immediate family member with a bleeding disorder (such as a sibling of, child of, or spouse of someone with a bleeding disorder). Applicants must be planning to pursue a post-secondary education or are pursuing a graduate degree or continuing education program. Applicants must be a resident of, or have permanent address in, one of the eligible Southern California counties. Applicants must demonstrate principles of goal-orientation and motivation through thought-out statements of goals and intentions. Priority will be given to applicants who are actively involved with HFSC as a community member participant or volunteer. Priority will also be given to those with a bleeding disorder diagnosis and to first-time applicants. A perfect GPA or extensive extracurricular activities are not necessary for applicants to be considered for the scholarship as we acknowledge that living with a bleeding disorder can be challenging. Description: The Charles LeGeyt Fortescue Scholarship is awarded annually for one year of full-time graduate work in electrical engineering at an engineering school of recognized standing located in the US. To be eligible, the student must have received a bachelor’s degree from an engineering college of recognized standing. The scholarship will be awarded to a first-year graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree program (or a doctoral degree program if it is the first graduate degree for the student). In the event the college is conducting a combined B.S. and M.S. degree program, the student in the penultimate year would be eligible for the award, which would apply in the final year of the program.
