Description: Each year the Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation (TASF) grants scholarship awards to deserving young men and women. Applicants must be students from accredited high schools who will graduate or who have graduated in the spring of their academic cycle. Using a scale of one hundred points, the committee considers academic achievement, extra curricular and community activities, relative financial need, recommendations, and both essays to competitively rank applicants. Applicants must submit three Letters of Recommendation that may be from Counselors, Instructors, Community Leaders, etc. Application forms and instructions may be obtained from high school guidance counselors, or a Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. local Chapter. Dr. Aura-Lee A. and James Hobbs Pittenger American History Scholarship:

Description: The Dr. Aura-Lee A. and James Hobbs Pittenger American History Scholarship is awarded to graduating high school students who will pursue a degree with a concentrated study of a minimum of 24 credit hours in American History and American Government. This award is intended to promote the study of our country’s history among our finest students. U.S. Citizens residing abroad may apply through a Units Overseas Chapter. At least two, but not more than four recommendations must be submitted. Recommendations should convey the applicant’s ability, work habits, integrity, character, potential, and volunteer activities. A copy of your proof of United States citizenship is also required: birth certificate, naturalization papers, or information page of United States Passport must be included. If using a passport as proof of citizenship, cover your photograph. Submitting an expired passport or picture of yourself will result in your application being disqualified. Marion Huber Learning Through Listening Awards:

Description: Each year, the Marion Huber Learning Through Listening Awards are presented to Learning Ally high school senior members with learning disabilities, who plan to continue their education after graduation, in recognition of their academic achievement, outstanding leadership, and service to others. Learning Ally awards the top winners $6,000 each and special honors winners $2,000 each. Aside from the application, a personal narrative in writing and video recording about the applicant’s learning difference and how Learning Ally changed their life must be submitted. One letter of recommendation from someone, must be a non-relative and not a legal guardian, who has had a positive influence or impact on the applicant’s academic performance and success is also required. The letter of recommendation must be accompanied by a referral form and personally signed by the author. All scholarship awardees must be capable and willing to publicly share their personal story and represent Learning Ally as a spokesperson and advocate at various local, virtual and national events. Texas AFL-CIO Scholarship Program:

Description: Members or children of members of local unions or children whose legal guardians are members of local unions that are affiliated with the Texas AFL-CIO and the local Central Labor Council may apply for the Texas AFL-CIO Scholarship Program. Applicants must be high school seniors who are planning to attend a university, college or technical institute in the summer or fall term. Please be sure to list the Central Labor Council, with which your parent’s or legal guardian’s local union is affiliated. Make sure the application is signed by a union officer and a parent or legal guardian. If you are unsure that your local union is affiliated with your local Central Labor Council, please contact one of your local union officers. A packet of material on organized labor will be sent to each applicant in March to prepare for a test about unions. Each Central Labor Council will arrange all interviews and tests for applicants no later than April 26, 2024. Please contact your Central Labor Council if you have not received notice of an interview by April 5, 2024. After interviews and tests are conducted, each local Central Labor Council will select semi finalists from among their applicants. The statewide Scholarship Committee of the Texas AFL-CIO will select winners from among the semi-finalists. Description: The purpose of the Texas History Essay Contest program is to assist and encourage graduating seniors to pursue their education at an institution of higher learning. Graduating seniors in any high school or home school may enter. Senior students in History, English, and Government classes are encouraged to participate. The authors of the three best essays submitted will be the scholarship winners if the essays warrant. Each contestant must submit an original and 6 photo copies of their essay for the judges (seven in all) including a CD or Flash Drive copy with contestant’s name, address, phone number, and year of the contest. The student must follow the format of the Chicago Manual of Style or Turabian’s Manual for Writers. Endnotes should be listed on one page and all references cited should be on a separate page. Information must come from a reliable published source (Books or Magazines) and students must acknowledge the author and publisher. Two internet sources are acceptable. The criteria used by the judges in selecting the winners will be based on a system that accurately scores the essays such as historical accuracy and content, writing quality (spelling and grammar), research references, bibliography, endnotes and whether the student followed instructions. Description: The Virginia Leyda Roberts Nursing Scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior or undergraduate student who has been accepted or is currently enrolled in a nursing school for an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. Description: The Scholarships for Graduating High School Seniors and Recent High School Graduates will be awarded to students who must be residents of or attend a high school in northern or central California. Description: The Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship provides high-achieving high school and college students interested in pursuing a career in education the opportunity to earn a scholarship for four academic years. In exchange, students must agree to teach for five years at an eligible Indiana school or repay the corresponding, prorated amount of the scholarship. Applicants must be a current high school senior or college student; must have graduated or will graduate from an Indiana accredited high school or non-accredited nonpublic high school. Description: The ACEC Delaware Scholarship is available to high school seniors who have lived in the State of Delaware for one continuous full year prior to the scholarship application deadline. Description: The Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Fund was started in 1985 by a small group of neighbors in Seattle’s Mount Baker community and is a sponsored activity of the Mount Baker Community Club. The fund was intended to capture the spirit and vision of Martin Luther King, Jr. and to ensure that his dream lives on in all of us. The scholarship is renewable for all four years of college. The goal of this scholarship is to help deserving students achieve the dream of a higher education. The scholarship seeks out students who show financial need and academic promise, have overcome obstacles, and who contribute to their community. Description: The Grand Lodge of Iowa, AF and AM will be awarding twenty-five scholarships (15 – $5000 scholarships and 10 – $2500 scholarships) to high school seniors who will graduate during the 2024-2025 academic year from a public high school within the state of Iowa. These scholarships are designed to assist graduating seniors in pursuing a post-secondary education in any state at an accredited institution which provides either a two-year or a four-year degree. Applicants are not required to have a Masonic connection, however, they must indicate in their personal resume if they do have a Masonic connection. The principal criterion is the applicant’s ability to demonstrate service in their school and community with special emphasis on leadership roles in these areas. Description: The children of Vermont-NEA members are eligible to apply for the Maida F. Townsend Scholarship. Students in their last year of high school, undergraduates, and graduate students are all eligible to apply. Students majoring in any discipline are eligible to apply, but preference may be given to those majoring in education or having that intention. Students may reapply for the award but may receive an award only once. The scholarship application cover letter should include answers to these questions: What makes you unique; What are your educational goals; and What are your plans for continuing education. College students must have one recommendation from a professor in their field of concentration and one from another professor. Description: Wings Over America Scholarship Foundation annually sponsors scholarships to further the postsecondary education of Navy dependents from the aviation community. Some of the scholarships are renewable. Scholarships may be used for trade school certification, community college or four-year university/college undergraduate study. Recipients are selected on the basis of scholastic merit, community service, extra-curricular activities and character. Applicants may be dependent children and spouses of active duty, retired, honorably discharged, or deceased Enlisted or Officer U. S. Navy personnel who serve or have served in U. S. Navy Aviation. High school senior students may apply. Applicants may also be any spouse or child (natural born, adopted or stepchild) of a member of the U.S. Navy who died while on active duty serving within a U.S. Navy aviation command may qualify regardless of length of service of the deceased sponsor. The applicant must be a citizen of the United States and/or be born in the United States. If the place of birth of the applicant as indicated on the application and/or transcript is other than the United States, appropriate proof of citizenship must be provided. The applicant must be a graduating senior ranked in the upper quarter of their graduating class or have a 3.5 GPA at the completion of the first grading period of their senior year. The applicant must graduate at the end of the spring semester immediately following the awarding of the scholarship. Applicants must have passed the EOC exam as indicated on the transcript. The applicant must have taken either the SAT or ACT college entrance examination and provide proof. Description: The American Legion – Department of Illinois, American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of The American Legion are co-sponsors of this Americanism Essay Contest Scholarship. Its purpose is to aid the schools of Illinois in the teaching of Americanism and good citizenship. Description: The Bettie Sue Dunn Cummings Scholarship Fund’s mission is to provide scholarships for young women from rural areas in Texas who are pursuing a career path that will lead to their financial security. Description: The Captain Mark Tyler Voss Memorial Scholarship was established to provide scholarships for graduating students from a high school in Boerne ISD. Applicants should be able to provide a list of extracurricular activities, community and volunteer work, and academic honors in their application. Description: The Frederick Carl Hawkins Endowed Educational Scholarship was established for Kerr County students in memory of Freddie Hawkins, who devoted his life to youth through his summer camping profession as well as through volunteerism with youth in the Hill Country community. Applicants must be a student currently graduating from a high school in Kerr County: Center Point High School, Ingram High School, Our Lady of the Hills High School, Tivy High School, and Hill Country High School. Applicants should exemplify good character, integrity, responsibility, and leadership. Applicants must have performed community service and furnish letters of reference of community service along with their application. Description: The Hill Country Performing Arts Scholarship was established to award graduating performing arts students who will be pursuing a degree at a higher level school of performing arts. American Legion Department of Tennessee High School Oratorical Contest:
Amount: $1,000 – 25,000

Description: The purpose of The American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program “A Constitutional Speech Contest” is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States among high school students. Other objectives of the contest include the development of leadership qualities, the ability to think and speak clearly and intelligently, and the preparation for acceptance of the duties and responsibilities, rights, and privileges of American citizenship. Scholarships are awarded by the American Legion of Tennessee and in cooperation with the National American Legion organization. Winners may use their scholarship to attend any accredited college or university, junior colleges or vocational trade school within the United States following graduation from high school, unless by service in the Armed Forces, and granted an extension of eligibility. All contestants must be presently enrolled in a high school or junior high school (public, parochial, military, private or state accredited home school) in which the curriculum of said high school is considered to be of high school level, commencing with grade nine and terminating with grade 12. High school students that graduate early during the school year are eligible to compete if they are not enrolled in a college, university, trade school or other institution of higher learning at the time of the department finals contest. Contestants must be either legally domiciled within or attend an educational institution within Tennessee. Description: After watching her stepson struggle while studying in medical school, Mrs. Louella Beazley set up this fund to assist high school students graduating from Kerr County who were pursuing a degree in the medical field. After the passing of Mrs. Beazley in 1999, this memorial fund has continued to assist medical students from Kerr County. Applicants must be a graduating student from a high school in Kerr County or a home schooled graduating senior from Kerr County. The Louella Beazley Memorial Scholarship is a four-year renewable scholarship. Recipients must submit a copy of an official college transcript of their grades each year in order to receive funds for successive years. Bernard Kilgore Memorial Scholarship:

Description: The Bernard Kilgore Memorial Scholarship is open to high school seniors who are graduating this year from a New Jersey school. The winner of the Kilgore Scholarship also is named the NJ High School Journalist of the Year. Applicants must plan to study journalism or media studies in college and to pursue a career in the media and must have participated in high school journalism for at least two years. Applicants are nominated by teachers at schools that are members of the Garden State Scholastic Press Association. Editors of newspapers that are members of the New Jersey Press Association also may nominate students. If the scholarship recipient attends a high school that doesn’t employ a GSSPA member, the New Jersey Press Foundation will pay the $15 membership fee for that school for the year the scholarship is awarded. Applicants must submit at least one sample of relevant spreads from their yearbook, not the entire book. Do not send CDs, DVDs, etc. Photocopies of letters, clippings, photos and art are acceptable; however, an original print of a photograph should accompany entries based on published pictures. Samples of the applicant’s work carefully selected to show the quality and diversity of their reporting, writing, photography, design, etc. must also be submitted. Three or four letters of recommendation from the applicant’s adviser, other teachers who know their leadership and journalistic abilities, and practitioners with whom the applicant has worked are also required. PGA WORKS John & Tamara Lundgren Scholars Program:

Description: PGA REACH has established a scholarship program to assist students intent on pursuing PGA of America Membership. These scholarships are designed to improve the recruitment and retention of talented and motivated students from diverse and historically underrepresented backgrounds, who are pursuing PGA Membership through PGA Golf Management University Programs nationwide. Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates or current postsecondary undergraduates. An intentional focus is placed on engaging a diverse demographic of participants, but all are welcome to apply. They must be planning to enroll in undergraduate study at one of the 17 accredited PGA Golf Management Universities pursuing a PGA Golf Management degree for the entire 2024-2025 academic year, with the intent to pursue PGA of America Membership. One award will be given to the top candidate interested or experienced in working internationally. If there are no qualified candidates for the international interest award, it will be given to the next ranked candidate. California Table Grape Field Worker Scholarship:
Amount: $14,000 – $25,000

Description: California table grape growers are offering scholarships to field workers and their children to attend four-year universities or colleges in California. There are two categories of scholarships. The first, called the Bridge Scholarship, is a $14,500 scholarship for students who will attend two years at a community college and transfer to a four-year university. The second is a $25,000 scholarship for students who will attend a four-year university. Three scholarships of each category are available. Applicants must be a parent, or legal guardian who must have been employed as a field worker in a California table grape vineyard during the 2024 harvest season or plan to be employed during the 2025 season. They may be a high school graduate or high school senior graduating in 2025. Selection is based on financial need, academic performance, obstacles overcome, clear educational or career goals, leadership ability, and community service. Preference will be given to those expressing a commitment to a future in agriculture and/or a career in the California table grape industry. Watson-Brown Foundation Scholarship:

Description: The primary mission of the Watson-Brown Foundation is providing need and merit-based scholarships to select Georgia and South Carolina students attending accredited four-year colleges and universities in the United States. Eligible students must be from one of the 23 counties listed in the scholarship’s website. A student’s permanent address must be within the designated county region at the time of high school graduation. Current high school seniors or current undergraduate students may apply for the scholarship.
