Description: The Walter A. Hunt, Jr. Scholarship aims to promote and encourage the study of architecture by New York City public high school students through a two-year scholarship to supplement tuition and related costs during their freshman and sophomore years at a NAAB-accredited school of architecture in the U.S. Applicants must be current New York City public high school seniors who have been accepted to a 5-year Bachelor of Architecture program at a NAAB-accredited School of Architecture in the U.S. Students at NYC Charter High Schools are eligible. Students at private, parochial or other schools where tuition is charged are not eligible. Applicants are encouraged to submit the portfolio which had been previously submitted to the Bachelor of Architecture program they are pursuing, if applicable. The digital portfolio must consist of at least 3-4 pieces of the student’s own visual art, design, or architecture work, though applicants may submit additional work if they feel it is relevant to their application. Projects may be 2-D or 3-D, and can be both finished and/or in-process projects. If a group project is submitted, the student must indicate their role in the project. Two letters of recommendation are required. Applicants are encouraged to submit the recommendation letters previously submitted to the Bachelor of Architecture program they are pursuing. One recommendation letter must be from a teacher in their high school; the second may be from an employer, person in the field of architecture or other adult. Third Marine Division Association Memorial Scholarship Fund:

Description: Established in 1969, to honor the loss in The Republic of Vietnam of Division Commander General Bruno A. Hochmuth, the MSF has been providing need-based financial assistance to qualified applicants who have consistently demonstrated excellence in colleges and universities across the United States. The mission in 1969 was to provide assistance to dependents of Third Marine Division members who lost their lives in Vietnam or whose post service death had been certified by the Department of Veterans Affairs to be the result of hostile enemy action or other disabilities incurred. Applicants for the Third Marine Division Association Memorial Scholarship Fund must be children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of those Association members who have held Association membership for at least two consecutive years immediately prior to the eligible dependent child’s first application for scholarship assistance. Any personnel who has been recently honorably discharged having been a member of or attached to a unit of the Third Marine Division (Reinf) provided the person has held Association membership for a period of at least two consecutive years immediately prior to the date of the first application, be current on all annual dues payments and who continues his or her membership for the entire period of their financial assistance is eligible. Awards may be awarded for any approved course of study in an accredited college or university, or for any approved course of study in an accredited and approved post-high school trade school institution. Applicants must be enrolled in each semester for not less than 12 credit hours. Awards will not be given in excess of four years of undergraduate study except for some special circumstances. First time applicants must submit a copy of their birth certificate; their transcript for Spring 2023; copy of 2024 school acceptance or enrollment letter; copy of a marriage license for married applicants; and a copy of Form DD-214 (and DD-215 if applicable). Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity:

Description: The Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity is a four-year renewable scholarship open to exceptionally Innovative and Creative high school seniors and first-time college freshmen. This scholarship is not a traditional scholarship focused on rewarding academic achievement and financial need. Its specific goal is to reward and encourage innovative and creative problem solving. The scholarship aims to honor students who excel as creative problem-solvers and to help make their higher education goals more accessible. Applicants must either be (A) a Connecticut or New York City metropolitan area resident planning to attend or attending an institution of higher education anywhere in the United States, or (B) a resident of any part of the U.S. planning to attend or attending an institution of higher education in CT or NYC. Description: The CLA Scholarship for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) Students in Memory of Edna Yelland encourages and supports students in the attainment of a graduate degree in library or information studies and encourages commitment to the improvement of library services to BIPOC communities. Applicants must be enrolled in an ALA-accredited master’s of library and information science or information studies program and have completed one or more courses (applications from students at institutions actively seeking accreditation are also welcome). They must intend to work in a California library upon graduation. NMCRS Education Assistance Program:

Description: The NMCRS Education Assistance Program is designed to help eligible Navy and Marine Corps families pursue their academic goals by providing scholarships and interest-free loans. Awards are provided based on the applicant’s financial need, and in accordance with policies established by the Society’s Board of Directors. Scholarships and interest-free education loans are awarded once per academic year. Scholarships range from $500-$3000 and loans are available up to $4000. Students may reapply each year. Those who may apply are children of active duty, retired or qualifying deceased Sailors and Marines. They must be under age 23 by September 30 of the current academic year. Description: The Second Year Nursing Scholarship will be awarded annually to not less than a second year student nurse who is enrolled in an accredited institution awarding a degree as a Registered Nurse. Description: The Wilma Hoyal-Maxine Chilton Memorial Scholarships will be awarded to a student at eligible universities in Arizona enrolled as a second year or upper division student in Political Science, Public Programs or Special Education. Description: The purpose of the Chopin Foundation Scholarship Program is to support and encourage young, talented American pianists through up to four years of preparation for the National Chopin Piano Competition of the United States, which is held in Miami, Florida, every five years. Renewable scholarships are awarded each year on a competitive basis to outstanding young American pianists who demonstrate a special affinity for the interpretation of Frederic Chopin’s music. In addition, the Scholarship Committee may grant half-awards in the amount of $500 to qualified applicants. A half-award may be granted to an applicant only once during the four-year program. Two recommendations from piano teachers or professional piano performers must be submitted. Applicants must also submit an unedited video of them performing Chopin’s works. Description: The Navy League Foundation only offers scholarships for high school seniors who will attend an accredited institution of higher education in the Fall of the current award cycle. The Ann E. Description: The Optimist International Oratorical Contest is designed for youth to gain experience in public speaking, perfect self-expression, gain self-assurance, improve communication skills, and provide them with the opportunity to compete for a college scholarship. Description: Grant Law Office is offering a scholarship to one deserving high school or college student in the state of Georgia. Applicants must be currently attending school in Georgia, or planning on attending a college or university in Georgia. Description: The Canadian Bates Scholarship program is administered through Universities Canada, located in Ottawa, Ontario. Three students are selected annually. The 1st place receives a stipend of $3,000 (CN), 2nd place at $2,500 (CN), and 3rd place at $2,000 (CN) per year for up to four consecutive years. Description: The Timothy S. and Palmer W. Bigelow, Jr. Scholarship was created in 1988 by the Bigelow family to aid students from New England who are seeking a career in horticulture. Applicants must have senior standing in a two-year curriculum (having completed the first year), junior standing in a four-year curriculum (having completed the first two years), or a graduate student standing. The Usrey Family Scholarship is awarded annually to students enrolled in landscape horticulture programs or related disciplines. Students in vocational agriculture programs will also be considered. Applicants must be currently enrolled in good standing. Applicants must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.25, and a minimum GPA of 2.7 in their major. California state residency is not required for this scholarship. Description: The Ora Lee Sanders Scholarship will be awarded to high school graduates who must be enrolled in an accredited, four-year-degree, undergraduate program at a college or university in the U.S. by August 2023. APWU Vocational Scholarship Program: 

Amount: $3,000

Description: The APWU Vocational Scholarship Program will be awarded to be used for three years of specialized training in such fields as culinary arts, medical or dental assistant, electrician, real estate, auto mechanic, certified IT/computer education, cosmetology, or massage therapy, etc. Eligible programs can be of a nine-month to three-year duration. Vocational Scholarships, if submitted, are awarded to recipients selected from the five postal regions: Central, Eastern, Northeast, Southern, and Western. Recipients must attend an accredited community college or vocational school, and must maintain a B” average (or “Pass” if on a “Pass/Fail” system), or a positive evaluation from a counselor or instructor. Description: MANTS, an association formed from the state nursery and landscape associations of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia, has established this scholarship with the Horticultural Research Institute (HRI) with the belief that the strength and future success of the horticulture industry lies in the solid education of today’s students. Through this scholarship, MANTS will provide scholarship opportunities to qualified students to help ensure the continuity of the nursery and landscape profession. Attendance at an institution within the MANTS member states is not mandatory. Applicants must have at least a junior standing in a four-year curriculum or senior standing in a two-year curriculum as of the fall semester of scholarship application year. Applicants must be enrolled in good standing. Applicants must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.7, and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in their major.
